DeSales concluded Shipwrecked, Rescued by Jesus Vacation Bible School on July 20th, where 95 children ages 4 through 9, took part in a week of fun, educational and spiritually uplifting activities. Led by co-organizers, Mrs. Tiffany Pearl, Mrs. Shawna Stolzenburg and Sister Roberta Theon, SSMN, over 55 students, alumni and parent volunteers assisted in the faith based program.

Each year at Vacation Bible School, the children and volunteers take part in a service project. This year, the young VBS students chose a school in the Dominican Republic, Colegio Infantil Hola, to monetarily give to through a program they nicknamed the ‘Seeds of Love’. To raise money, children participating in VBS earned money from their parents by doing small tasks around their house. Each morning when the children arrived at DeSales, they planted their money in seed packets in the gym. Together they raised $576. These proceeds will be donated to kindergarteners at Colegio Infantil Hola to help in areas such as tuition, uniforms, and supplies.

DeSales is Eastern Niagara County’s only Catholic School, serving over 300 students in Early Childhood Education through Eighth grade.  For more information call (716) 433-6422 or visit www.desalescatholicschool.org.
