DeSales Receives Rotondo Run Scholarship

DeSales Receives Rotondo Run Scholarship

On behalf of the Thomas C. Rotondo Scholarship Run Committee, Mrs. Anna Marie Rotondo presented a check for $1,500 to DeSales Catholic School on August 25th.  These funds will establish a financial aid scholarship at the Catholic elementary school.

The funds were raised at the inaugural Thomas C. Rotondo Scholarship Run on July 22nd held in Lockport.  The run, organized by the Rotondo family, is a way to commemorate the life and carry on the spirit of the late five-term Lockport mayor. Through the race efforts two scholarships are being established: one for a DeSales Catholic School student with financial need in the 2017-2018 school year and one for 2018 graduate of Lockport High School.

“Mr. Rotondo was an alumnus of DeSales Catholic High School and a member of our Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame; he was a very respected and loved member of our community. The run and scholarship are a wonderful way to remember him.” Kim Knuutila, DeSales Director of Admissions & Advancement.

DeSales is Eastern Niagara County’s only Catholic School, welcoming students of all faiths in preschool through eighth grade.  For more information call (716) 433-6422 or visit www.desalescatholicschool.org.
