The Library Media Center at DeSales is a welcoming place filled with constant activity. Our students use the library media center and its materials for both classroom educational requirements and reading enjoyment. The library collection includes over 10,000 books, magazines, audio-visual materials and online subscription databases. It has an instructional area with a Smart board and 10 student computers, along with a story rug for younger grades.
Students in preschool through fifth grade come to the library weekly for a 30 minute instructional period which includes lessons ranging from book care rules to using online databases. Each session includes time for book selection. Students check out books for a one-week period, and may renew their books as often as necessary. Middle school students are welcome to use the library resources during flex periods, or throughout the day with teacher permission.
