Using a variety of different mediums, including painting, clay, charcoal drawing and paper mache, students at DeSales express their creativity and explore their imagination in weekly art classes. Students in early grades take time to delve into the different mediums, helping them to become more familiar with new and unique ways to express themselves. As our students progress through upper elementary and middle school the skills they developed in the earlier years are put to the test. They are taught to show their creativity in projects that relate back to their core classroom studies, include such things as Renaissance and African art projects. Finally, as an eighth grader, our students get a chance to leave their mark on our school with the creation of their memory tile. This unique expression of a student's personality is mounted on the wall for generations of future graduates to enjoy.
